Yeast Infection Relief is Within Reach – Suffering from yeast infections can be a real drag and an unnecessary health scare.  People anguishing from conditions such as candida infection will tell you that not only is it nasty to have such state, the burning and itchy situation is really irritating and awful.

Fortunately, there are a lot of ways to not only get rid of the manifestations and horrible symptoms, but also the condition itself.  Natural solutions abound, as well as chemical cures.  This vaginal problem should not be a bane, but an easy challenge that can be cured fast and easily.

In treating yeast infections, chemical cures like antifungal ointments and applications are always the first treatments thought of.  This general cure however, may not be quite as effective when applied to one type of patient.  You see, there is a type of patient that readily responds to topical medicine as their yeast infection is isolated and not frequent.  There are, however, other patients that have chronic yeast problems that plague them frequently.

Yeast vaginitis that recurs (often referred to as vulvo-vaginal candidiasis)   also has topical cures, but they are more potent than the usual antifungal creams applied to the previous group of patients.  These antifungal agents can be classified into two: polyenes, which are commonly known as amphotericin and nystatin and imidazole derivatives, which can be further subdivided into earlier (miconazole, clotrimazole) and newer versions (ketoconazole, butoconazole).  Polyenes are said to be the most effective and are thus the most popular antifungal agent.

Meanwhile, nyastin comes in the form of vaginal suppositories that are inserted into the vagina twice a day for ten days, followed for another week, once daily.  Oral medication meanwhile comes in the form of fluconazole (once a day) which complements a seven-day topical clotrimazole treatment.  Fluconazole is definitely more expensive than topical treatments.

The treatments stated above need a prescription for patients to take advantage of them.  However, currently, there are two antifungal cures that do not need a prescription to be availed: Gyne-Lotrimin (clotrimazole) and Monistat (miconazole nitrate).  You can readily get them on drugstore shelves without a doctor’s prescription.  It is still advisable, though, for you to seek professional advice from a doctor if the infection doesn’t stop after a week or if the condition is getting frequent.

As earlier mentioned, there are also a number of natural solutions for patients suffering from vaginal yeast conditions.  These cures aim to restore the pH balance of the area, thus preventing the growth of yeast.  Here are a number of natural cures:

500 mg of olive leaf extract and 600 mg of caprylic acid can be mixed and taken three times a day after meals.  This will flush out all the yeast in your body.  Take this olive-leaf extract and caprylic acid solution for 60 days for the full effect.

Dietary changes must be made so that the yeast won’t have anything to feed on your body.  Two cups of unsweetened yogurt daily and a healthy dose of garlic in your diet kills yeast in your body.  If the taste of unsweetened yogurt is not your type, than you can try the supplement called Primal Defense.  Take 2 of these capsule supplements thrice a day.  Food with yeasts such as sugar, bread, beer and cheese should be avoided and reduce the chances of having yeast infection in the future.

Make a douche by mixing 3 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar in 1 quart of warm water.  This shall restore your body’s pH levels to lessen any chances of yeast growing in your body.  At the same time, itchiness is also relieved.  When having a bath, you might as well add a cup of apple cider vinegar in warm water to use as your bath water.
